Four professors are the latest recipients of Distinguished University Professorships (DUP), including Dale Laird, PhD, from the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology. Western also selected 15 Faculty Scholars to recognize their significant achievements in teaching and research, including four from Schulich Medicine & Dentistry: Qingping Feng, PhD, Physiology and Pharmacology; Lauren Flynn, PhD, Anatomy & Cell Biology (joint appointment with the Faculty of Engineering); Steven Laviolette, PhD, Anatomy & Cell Biology; and Dr. Walter Siqueira, Dentistry and Biochemistry.

Congratulations to Dr. Homer Yang, Chair/Chief of the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine who has been named as a Gold Medal Award winner from the Canadian Anesthesiologist’s Society. The medal is the highest award of the Society given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to anesthesia in Canada through teaching, research, professional practice or leadership.
