Four professors are the latest recipients of Distinguished University Professorships (DUP), including Dale Laird, PhD, from the Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology. Western also selected 15 Faculty Scholars to recognize their significant achievements in teaching and research, including four from Schulich Medicine & Dentistry: Qingping Feng, PhD, Physiology and Pharmacology; Lauren Flynn, PhD, Anatomy & Cell Biology (joint appointment with the Faculty of Engineering); Steven Laviolette, PhD, Anatomy & Cell Biology; and Dr. Walter Siqueira, Dentistry and Biochemistry.

Four early career researchers across four different departments at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry were awarded Early Researcher Awards from the Government of Ontario. Congratulations to Kelly Anderson, PhD, Jimmy Dikeakos, PhD, Stephen Renaud, PhD, and John Ronald, PhD. These awards give funding to new researchers to build their research teams investigating important health care questions related to cancer, HIV, mental illness and pregnancy complications.
