Awards
Our Chair/Chief Recognition Awards are presented annually by the Citywide Department of Family Medicine to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our colleagues and, in particular, his/her contributions for the benefit of the Department. This year we received a number of nominees.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the 2020 Chair-Chiefs’ Recognition Award(s) recipients as selected by the Citywide Department of Family Medicine Associate Chiefs:
Dr. Dana Winterburn Award
The award is given annually by the Citywide Department of Family Medicine in remembrance of Dr. Winterburn.
Dr. Natalie HertzmanChief's Award for Outstanding Allied Health Service
Lisa Keller, Communications Clerk, Palliative Care/Subacute Medicine Unit, LHSC (University Hospital)
Consultant of the Year Award
The Award is presented to a Consultant at London Health Sciences Centre or St. Joseph’s Health Care, London, who, in the opinion of the Chief(s), demonstrates exemplary patient-centered service and communication to referring family physicians.
Chief's Award for Outstanding Family Medicine Service
The Award is presented to a physician member of the Citywide Department of Family Medicine who, in the opinion of the Chief(s), has made a significant contribution to the Citywide Department of Family Medicine in accordance with its mission statement and goals.
Dr. Sonny Cejic
Department of Family Medicine Site Chiefs Award
Dr. Sharon Koivu as (former) Family Medicine Site Chief at University Hospital.
The formal presentation of these awards usually takes place at our Citywide Department of Family Medicine Holiday Celebration held at Windermere Manor in London in December. In 2020, this event has cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In lieu of that event, Dr. Stephen Wetmore will attend at each recipient’s workplace to present the award in a safe fashion.
