It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Family Medicine website.
Based on our solid foundation as the Birthplace of Family Medicine in Canada, we have developed a strong department, committed to excellence in education, administration, and research.

Our researchers contribute significantly to various research programs throughout the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and London hospitals. Our faculty has developed excellence in several areas, including patient-centered care.
The Patient-Centred Clinical Method, developed in London, has now been adopted by virtually all medical schools across Canada. At the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, this is the basis for the solid clinical experience in family medicine that is the hallmark of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate training. This training can now be experienced throughout southwestern Ontario, in our many distributed medical education sites.
Graduates of our two-year residency program in family medicine can be assured of excellent clinical training in generalist family medicine with exposure to primary care research and leadership training. These graduates will be poised to become leaders in family medicine in their home communities.
