It seems every year I tell myself a story that I am more organized heading into September and the fall season, and it won’t feel nearly as busy or pass as quickly as the previous year. And then every year, September is as crazy as ever! I cannot believe we are already into the home stretch of October. - Undergraduate Report
The new academic year is in full swing, and the FM UG committee is excited to be reconnecting with our class reps. This year, our London team placed 155 students into primary care practices for the Year 1 Longitudinal Clinical Experience program; Windsor placements are also being finalized. In LCE, students spend 32 hours of their first year observing patient care delivery in one generalist clinic. Thank you to the faculty who support these early clinical learners through LCE. - Postgraduate Report
The PG Team extends their congratulations and welcome to Dr. Hiba El-Fayoumi who has been appointed as the IMG Coordinator...Preceptor evaluations providing a summary of anonymized evaluations submitted by residents over the previous few years were released in August through One45...Reminder that the purpose of the Faculty Advisor Program is to provide longitudinal mentoring, and educational support and guidance for our residents. - Graduate Report
From September 16 – 20, the Family Medicine Graduate Programs held a very successful launch of the 2024-25 academic year with the on-site portion. There were seven Masters and two PhD students present from across Canada and internationally. Our Master’s Program is in its 47th year and the PhD Program is in its 16th year. Together we are helping develop future teachers and researchers in Family Medicine. We have much to be proud of. - Research Report
