Dr. Peter Fowler appointed to the Order of Canada
Congratulations to Dr. Peter Fowler, appointed to the Order of Canada for his pioneering contributions to the development of sport medicine in Canada.
Dr. Fowler is an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Surgery at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry. He was the co-founder and former medical director of the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic at Western and has served as Chief Medical Officer to Canadian National teams at Commonwealth and Olympic Games.
Dr. Fowler was one of 125 new appointees to the Order of Canada announced by Governor General of Canada, Julie Payette. Created in 1967, the Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest civilian honours and recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.
