  • 2016 SUMMER STUDENT RESEARCH - Call for applications from Faculty & Students

    The summer student research program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in the DDS program to contribute to clinical and basic science research being performed in Schulich Dentistry. Each year, there are a limited number of 12-week studentships awarded by competition.

  • Dr. Shimizu Inducted into the International College of Dentists

    On August 28, 2015, Dr. Michael Shimizu was inducted into the International College of Dentists, along with 20 other dentists from the province of Ontario. The Fellows will be formally welcomed at a luncheon being held at the ODA Annual Spring Meeting on May 6, 2016. (read more) 

  • NCOHR Workshop: Technology Transfer and Commercialization

    The Network for Canadian Oral Health and Research (NCOHR) recently sponsored a Summer Workshop on Technology Transfer and Commercialization (TTC) hosted by the University of Toronto, July 30-31, 2015. Two Schulich Dentistry research trainees (Rajesh Gupta and Yara Hosein) and two faculty members (Drs. Les Kalman and Ali Tassi) attended the workshop, all with an interest in translational impact and technology transfer.

Title (1): Overcoming the challenge of periodontal regeneration: Monetite cement grafts for achieving more predictable alveolar ridge augmentation prior to dental implant placement.   • CIHR Funding Success for Oral Biology

    Congratulations to Dr. Walter Siqueira (Oral Biology) for obtaining major operating research funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Dr. Siqueira was awarded a 5 year grant totaling $614,880 for his project titled 'Novel Salivary Peptides and Their Functions on Dental Caries’.
