Ob/Gyn Program
Thinking about Ob/Gyn at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry?
How do I apply?
- Canadian medical-school graduates must make application through the CaRMS process.
- Those wishing information about transfer into the program should contact Brittany Philipson, Post-grad Educational Program Administrator
How do you select?
Usually, there are six CaRMS positions available each year. In general, the selection committee prefers candidates to have a broad clinical background and at least some Ob/Gyn electives. Meaningful reference letters also constitute an important part of the application.
The selection process involves all departmental post-graduate education committee members. Applicants are invited in December for an interview in January. Failure to attend these interview sessions precludes consideration for a CaRMS ranking. Selection is based on the interview assessments, CaRMS application materials, including the applicant's curriculum vitae and academic record, and letters of recommendation.
Successful applicants are expected to respond in writing within one week to the contract offer. Failure to do so may result in the position being offered to an alternate candidate and contravenes the CaRMS contract.
