Dr. Theo Karaouzas grew up in London Ontario. He completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours Specialization in Biology, Major in Medical Sciences) at the University of Western Ontario. From there he moved to Ireland where he completed his Medical Degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at the University of Limerick. He remained in Limerick for a year following medical school to complete a medical internship. Following this, Dr. Karaouzas returned to Ontario to complete his Family Medicine residency here at Southwest Middlesex Health Centre through Western University. Dr. Karaouzas joined Western University as a Clinical Academic Family Physician in 2024. 

Dr. Karaouzas practices comprehensive academic Family Medicine at Southwest Middlesex Health Centre, Hospitalist Inpatient Medicine at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Nursing Home Medicine at Strathmere Lodge, and Community Home-based Palliative Care with both the Palliative Care Outreach Team 3 (PCOT3) and the Indigenous Palliative Care Team (InPACT). Dr. Karaouzas’s academic interests include advanced electronic medical record add-ons/technologies, provisions and management of the integration of virtual care, and the integration of advancing artificial intelligence fields into family medicine.
