Graduate Program Report
The Graduate Program has been busy preparing for a number of thesis examinations over the past few months. On November 4th, Dr. Nusrat Jamil successfully defended her thesis entitled "How Family Physicians in Saskatchewan make Lung Cancer Screening Decisions". Dr. Annabeth Loveys will defend her thesis entitled "A family doctor can do that!" Is there a role for a formalized referral network for office procedures in family practices of Newfoundland and Labrador? on December 7th. We expect there will be another MClSc student defending their thesis in mid January, 2016.
Dr. Judith Brown and Liz McInnis were busy recruiting at Family Medicine Forum from November 11 - 14, 2015.
Current MClSc student Dr. Michelle Levy presented a poster based on her recently completed MClSc Research Project entitled "The Experience of New Family Medicine Faculty" at NAPCRG and will be present it at the Family Medicine Forum as well. Dr. Shirley Schipper, also a MClSc student presented a poster on "Performance of Family Medicine Residents on the CFPC Certification Examination".
