Celebrating Our Values: Dr. Monique Bertrand
Dear colleagues,
I am grateful for and proud of each staff member and physician who continue to pursue and achieve excellence in patient care during these challenging times. I sincerely thank Dr. Monique Bertrand, Dr. Sonny Cheng, David Dewit (RN), Jill Barber-Diestler (RN), Michelle Shepard (RN), and Shaunique Simpson (PSW), for your commitment to compassionate and professional care for those we serve.
I recently had surgery at London Health Sciences Centre. My surgeon was Dr. Monique Bertrand. She was excellent as was her team on that day. The care that I received, before and after the surgery was excellent. From the anesthesiologist to all the nurses and caregivers, everything was done to keep me comfortable and well taken care of through my stay at the hospital.
I know that I don't remember all the names of the staff, but I think the anesthesiologist told me to call him Sonny, before he explained about the epidural for pain management.
David was the wonderful nurse who wheeled me to different areas and held my hands while the epidural was being inserted, and told me that I was doing great.
The nurses who cared for me after surgery were Jill, Michelle, and a PSW called Shauni. I do hope I got these correct. There were several others and I am sorry that I do not remember their names.
