Monday, October 29, 2012
Construction activity is in full swing and on schedule for the new home for the Schulich Interfaculty Program in Public Health and Department of Family Medicine, located just south of the corner of Richmond Street and Windermere Road. Structural steel and decking has been erected on just under one half of the building, while framing and concrete work are ongoing on the remaining stairwells/service shafts. Meanwhile all the related site work including a new roadway and a pumping station are continuing.
The official name of the building was recently approved and the building will be known as The Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine.
Completion is expected in late June of 2013 with occupancy to follow in July/August - just in time for the first Master of Public Health class arriving in September.
