Staff Profile: Claudia Jarosz
The Department of Family Medicine would like to introduce Claudia Jarosz, our new Postgraduate Academic Program Coordinator.
What do you most enjoy about your role in the Department?
Being newly appointed to this position I love that I was given the opportunity to continue growing my career through this role. I enjoy taking what I have learned from my time as a Master’s student and conducting research at Victoria Hospital and use those skills to assist Family Medicine residents with their own projects.
What’s been your most memorable experience while working in the Department?
As soon as began my position in the department I was introduced to so many kind and welcoming members. Every co-worker, staff and faculty member, and resident that I have the opportunity to interact and work with have been wonderful. I am excited to be able to have more memorable experiences working in this department.
What’s your greatest accomplishment?
In the past year, my greatest accomplishment was having the opportunity to fly over to Alberta and hike up mountains for the first time in various spots around Banff National Park. My fiancé and I completed some difficult hikes up four snow and ice covered mountains, all while hearing the sound of avalanches in the distance. It was an incredible experience with spectacular views and we cannot wait to go back sometime in the summer to do it again.
And then what do you like to do outside of work, or how you enjoy spending your time, etc.
I can almost always be found in the kitchen testing out a new recipe or throwing a bunch of things together and creating a new dish. I love to cook for my family and am always baking new cakes and cookies for holidays and birthdays. The best part about being in the kitchen is getting to sample as you go along! Then to burn off all of those calories I enjoy keeping active, whether that is lifting weights at the gym, heading over to Lost Cycle for a spin class, or walking the trails in the city.
