Undergraduate Report
Meds 2024: Clerkship continues, and by now the class has just over three months remaining. Clerkship logbooks should be 75% complete – please ensure your clerk is filling out their log book.
Meds 2023: Almost done! The CaRMS 1st iteration saw a 94 per cent match rate for the class (national 93 per cent) and the 2nd iteration results are released April 27th. There is a flurry of activity in the class – studying for and writing the MCCQE Part 1, making plans for moving, travelling, marrying, etc. all while finishing up Transition to MD. Mark the morning of June 7th in your calendars for Convocation.
Of note – Faculty Evaluations - There is a shared responsibility to ensure faculty evaluations are completed. Evaluations are used for quality improvement of courses and teaching as well as faculty career development and promotion. The low response rates are an obstacle to QI. Students receive literally dozens of requests weekly to complete feedback forms on courses and faculty – in addition to other emails, updates and deadlines. Please discuss with your student that there are evaluations they should be completing on both the rotation as a whole, and yourself as a preceptor. We need to work hard to get these numbers up!
