(TUTOR-PHC) 2022 Virtual Symposium
Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research – Primary Health Care (TUTOR-PHC) 2022 Virtual Symposium
TUTOR-PHC held its annual Symposium from April 25th to April 28th. The Symposium is usually an in-person event but was held virtually this year. The Symposium is the start of the year-long TUTOR program. This is the 19th year of the TUTOR-PHC program – the only interdisciplinary primary health care research training program in Canada.
The Symposium was attended by 12 trainees from across Canada, 2 trainees from the UK,1 trainee each from Australia and Netherlands. Nineteen TUTOR-PHC mentors also attended the Symposium and helped to lead the workshops and training sessions, as well as building working relationships with the trainees, thereby increasing the network of primary health care researchers across Canada.
The trainees were joined by two patient partners, Ron Beleno and Lorraine Bayliss, who facilitated a session on patient and community engagement in research.
Department members Amanda Terry, Judith Belle Brown, Graham Reid, Bridget Ryan and Maria Mathews led components of the Symposium for the trainees in attendance.
The Symposium was a great success, and we look forward to a fantastic 20th anniversary celebration of the TUTOR-PHC program next year!
Dr. Terry and Dr. Brown acknowledge the important support provided by the Department of Family Medicine and Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
