The final CaRMS results are in! A successful year. The MD Program had a 95% match rate in the 1st iteration (a typical first match rate for the School) with all 5 students entering the 2nd iteration successfully matched. Four students chose not to enter the second iteration and accepted other education opportunities for the coming year. Slightly more than 50% matched to Family Medicine programs across the country. Roughly 40% of Schulich Medicine students matched to the School’s PGME programs and are staying here.
Opportunities to sign up for the MD Program key roles of small group facilitator (Integrated Small Group Learning – ISGL); coach (Academic Coaching Program – ACP) and examiners for OSCEs. For descriptions of these, and other UME roles e.g. Quality Improvement and Inquiry-Based project based learning, visit Role Descriptions - Undergraduate Medical Education - Western University (uwo.ca). Involvement in the MD Program is an amazing chance to interact with very bright and inquisitive students. We are moving away from “just in time” last minute recruiting. We anticipate having departmental recruitment for several key roles completed by June 30, 2022 for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
