Family Medicine Competency Committee
The first Competency Committee of 2021/22 was held in early October and chaired by our Assessment Director, Dr. Christina Cookson. This is an important committee that oversees resident academic and clinical progress and achievement of milestones during residency.
The Competence Committee reports the outcomes of discussions and decisions to the FM Postgraduate Education Executive Committee. The committee might also report findings to faculty advisors to help with any action items arising from the meetings. Keeping up with each year’s curriculum requirements is very important! Our Competence Committee monitors resident succession in the program and may be in touch with residents or their Faculty Advisor/Preceptors regarding progress throughout the year. A more detailed outlook of residency requirements can be found on our website.
