Transition of Leadership
The Department of Family Medicine and the Postgraduate Program would like to announce a transition of leadership in the Postgraduate Director role from Dr. Jamie Wickett to Dr. Julie Copeland (Program Director) and Dr. Daniel Grushka (Associate Program Director) effective this coming January. Also in January, Dr. Kyle Carter will transition into the role of Enhanced Skills Program Director, a role held by Dr. Daniel Grushka.
Dr. Grushka is a clinical team lead at the Victoria Family Medical Centre and has been involved with the Department since 2009 in the capacity of Adjunct Professor, Assistant Professor, Enhanced Skills Program Director, and Associate Professor. Originally from Montreal, Dr. Grushka completed a BSc. and MSc at McGill University. Dr. Grushka then completed his MD degree and Family Medicine residency at Western University with an additional year in Emergency Medicine in 2008.
Dr. Daniel Grushka’s term as Family Medicine Enhanced Skills Program Director started in 2009. He has led the development and growth of the Enhanced Skills Program Canada-wide as the National Chair of Enhanced Skills and cares deeply about it’s success. He has helped transform the Enhanced Skills program at Western University into the one of the largest programs in Canada, helping to answer local societal needs in Southwestern Ontario.
We thank Dr. Grushka for his outstanding leadership and wish him well in his upcoming role as Postgraduate Associate Program Director.
