FMF 2017
A number of interested MClSc prospects stopped by our booth at the Family Medicine Forum (FMF). We also had an opportunity to reconnect with some of our alumni from schools across Canada (Memorial University of Newfoundland, McMaster University, Université de Sherbrooke, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia).
Several of our alumni/current students were presented with awards at the FMF Awards Gala: Dr. Michael Lee-Poy (Family Physician of the Year), Dr. Tanya Thornton (Dr. Mimi Divinsky award for history & narrative in Family Medicine), Dr. James Rourke (Calvin L. Gutkin Family Medicine Ambassador award), Dr. Cassandra Lin (Family Medicine Resident Leadership award).
MClSc alumni/current students were well represented during The Family Medicine Innovations in Research and Education (FIRE) day on Wednesday, November 8: Drs. Dr. John Campbell is scheduled to defend his thesis titled “The Impact of an EMR on the Management of Adult Patients with Type Two Diabetes by Family Physicians in Rural Newfoundland” on Tuesday, December 5.
