Postgraduate Program Report
CaRMS 2016: The CaRMS Family Medicine Residency Information Sessions will be taking place on January 23rd and 24th. We will be interviewing over 600 candidates in total. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the faculty, staff and residents that have offered their assistance for these events. We couldn’t do it without you. Match day is March 2nd, 2016 and the CaRMS 2nd iteration interview day is tentatively scheduled for March 19th, 2016.
Triple C Update: Our family medicine postgraduate program is part of the College of Family Physicians of Canada's (CFPC) Family Medicine Longitudinal Survey (FMLS). This survey is one of the methodologies being used to evaluate the effectiveness of the new Triple C Competency Based Curriculum. The FMLS describes the demographics of FM residents, the FM learning experiences acquired by FM residents, FM resident perspectives about their discipline and FM residents’ intentions and choices made to practice FM. The survey was officially launched in 2014 and is administered at the time of entry into the FM program, upon completion of the program and three years into practice. The data from the FMLS will be very helpful for program evaluation, designing learning experiences and curriculum and conducting research.
