Academic Sites
University Hospital provides tertiary and quaternary care for many services including Cardiac Surgery, Neurology and Neurosurgery. Victoria Hospital provides Trauma, Cancer Care and Psychiatry. In addition, St. Joseph's Hospital Urgent Care Centre provides care to the community of London. Residents rotate through LHSC and St. Joseph's to enhance training in multiple specialty areas.
Residents within the Emergency Medicine training programs, CCFP(EM) and FRCPC, have the opportunity to learn in the Schulich distributed sites including St. Thomas, Stratford and Windsor. The catchment area is large and provides significant opportunities to learn from a variety of pathology and diverse patient populations. The obstetrics rotation can be completed in Windsor.
It is very common for residents to take electives in Clinical Toxicology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and also at Bellevue Hospital in New York City (NYCPC) Although these are by definition electives, the program currently supports residents for travel and accommodation.
