Research Updates
Winter 2024/2025
There are a few updates to report from the world of Research at Schulich Dentistry.
Dr. Cecilia Dong would like to congratulate her medical students Mohnish Rao and Eva Gajic on winning a poster award at the last LHSC Research Day in May 2024.
As of September 2024, Dr. Sheila Butler is working with a new PhD candidate under her supervision, Dr. Rafaela de Souza.
Jennifer Nguyen Seo (Grad Ortho '25) pictured left, presented research on pediatric obstructive sleep apnea on June 18th, 2024 at the 68th Annual Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Conference.
The conference, which was held from June 17-19th, 2024 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, brought together OMFS surgeons and other professionals from across the country to participate in courses and learn from a variety of expert speakers.
Ten FORUS fellows presented their research projects at the FORUS Research Forum on October 8th, 2024.
There was a great turn out from faculty, staff, and learners as well as guests from the ODA. The breadth and multidisciplinarity of the presented projects were impressive.
Thanks to the FORUS mentors for their dedication to their trainees' success. Discussions in Research Group Meetings will inform whether/how future FORUS calls for collaborative projects may be theme-based and/or career-stage focussed.
