In Memoriam
Spring 2023/24
Over the past year, we received sad news about several members of the Schulich Dentistry Community.
In July of 2023, former Dentistry Professor Dr. David Wilson Johnston passed away at the age of 87. Dr. Johnston contributed greatly to the school and local dental community with important research on dental public health.
In December, we offered condolences to former Acting Vice Dean and Director Dr. Bertha Garcia, whose husband Carlos Manuel Garcia Pardo passed away at the age of 84.
Dr. Norman McFarlane, who was a former lecturer at Schulich Dentistry and also former president of London and District Dental Society (LDDS), passed away in December 2023. In January 2024, we were informed of the passing of Drs. Jack Harris and Leonard Noel Johnson, both founding members of the School.
We also lost Dr. Bill Miletic, a beloved member of our clinical adjunct team, unexpectedly in February 2024.
As we recognize their passing, we should also take a moment to celebrate the memories they have left behind and the contributions they made to our community.
