On December 16, 2020, the London Health Sciences Foundation announced the continuation of a long-standing partnership with the Breast Cancer Society of Canada as they make a $2.5 million commitment through 2030 for breast cancer research. In honour of this generous partnership, the current Pamela Greenaway-Kohlmeier Translational Breast Cancer Research Unit at London Health Sciences Centre London Regional Cancer Program will be renamed as the Breast Cancer Society of Canada Translational Research Unit at LRCP.Fall Catalyst Grant Competition Awardees Announced

The London Regional Cancer Program Catalyst Grants for Translational Cancer Research review panel recently recommended to the Executive Council of the LRCP funding for projects submitted to the 2020 Fall Competition. This program, open to all primary and cross-appointees in the Department of Oncology at Western University (and their collaborators), supports translational cancer research with potential to attract and retain external funding and to lead to clinical applications that reduce the burden of cancer. Dr. John Yoo, Dean, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry has named Dr. Paula Foster, PhD. as the recipient of the 2020 Dean's Awards of Excellence for Faculty Research. Paula is a Professor in the Department of Medical Biophysics and a Scientist at the Roberts Research Institute where she is the leader of the Cellular and Molecular Imaging program. Dr. Qi Zhang, Associate Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University joins the Centre for Translational Research today. Dr. Zhang is also an Associate Scientist with Lawson Health Research Institute and a pathologist at London Health Science Centre. Dr. Zhang's clinical activities include neuropathology (surgical and autopsy) and anatomical pathology (GI tract). His research interests are in basic neuroscience and neuropathological diseases. Welcome!
