Dr. Stewart Gaede's named as Chief Medical Physicist

Dr. Stewart Gaede, PhD. Associate Professor in the Departments of Oncology, and Medical Biophysics with the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University has been named Chief Medical Physicist at LRCP effective July 31st, 2020. Dr. Gaede's holds a Doctorate in Science, Applied Mathematics from Western University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Four-Dimentional Computed Tomography (4D-CT) from the Robarts Research Institute.
Clinically, Dr. Gaede has been instrumental in developing and implementaing an international recognized image-guided respiratory motion management program, which led to additional high impact clinical implementations, including stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT).
Dr. Gaede is equally as successful on the research side having published many peer-reviewed journal articles and has received many external awards. Dr. Gaede was recently awarded a multi-year operating Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) to support his ongoing research in the areas of real-time targeted radiation therapy.
