The Department of Pathology and Laboratory of Medicine would like to offer congratulations to Allie Dawson, who recently completed an MSc in Pathology. Dr. Anthony Nichols was Allie’s MSc supervisor. The thesis title is "Investigation of MACROD2 as a Biomarker of Treatment Resistance in Human Papillomavirus-Related Head and Neck Cancer."
At a recent CAP-ACP meeting in Ottawa, the Canadian Society of Cytopathology honoured Dr. Meg McLachlin with its Distinguished Service Award in recognition of Dr. McLachlin’s outstanding work on cervical cancer screening and HPV testing in Canada and her longstanding contributions to Canadian quality assurance and improvement practices in cytopathology.
Dr. Michael Payne was awarded the 2023 Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (CAPM&R) Award of Merit, which is the highest achievement awarded by CAPM&R. The award recognizes Dr. Payne's exemplary contributions to the field of physiatry through clinical care, research, education, mentorship, and the advancement of the field.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory of Medicine would like to offer congratulations to Tan Ze Wang, who recently completed an MSc in Pathology. Dr. Xiufen Zheng was Tan Ze’s MSc supervisor. The thesis title is "Role of Circular RNA ASPH in Macrophage Polarization and Response in Sepsis.”
