Working together with researchers at the ImPaKT Facility at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, two Western Alumni have shown that a UVC LED light system they developed can effectively kill SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The system is now being used in a variety of applications including in conveyors that can decontaminate packages and as part of a system designed specifically to clean casino chips.
