In Memoriam: Dr. Samuel Ludwin

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Samuel Ludwin. Dr. Ludwin was the Chair of Pathology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry from 1992-1993. He passed away peacefully at his home in Kingston on January 21, 2020.
Award: Dr. Peeyush Lala honoured with American Association for Anatomy Henry Gray Scientific Achievement Award

Dr. Peeyush Lala is the recipient of the 2020 Henry Gray Scientific Achievement Award from the American Association for Anatomy (AAA). The acknowledgement is the AAA’s highest scientific award. Dr. Lala is being recognized for his novel discoveries relating to reproduction and cancer.

Led by Dr. Luciano Sposato, the Kathleen and Henry Barnett Chair in Stroke at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, a Western-led study showed that women and men with no underlying heart disease are more than 20 times more likely to have their first heart attack, chest pain, or even cardiac death following a stroke.
