Nicole Barra, PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, received this award for her fellowship proposal “Perinatal Exposure to Nicotine Leads to Long-Term Obesity in Women: Elucidating the Underlying Molecular Mechanisms”.

Dr. Robert Hegele, Frank Beier, PhD, Terry Peters, PhD, and Dr. J. Geoffrey Pickering, are among 23 researchers who received grants totalling $23.5 million from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Foundation and Open Operating Grants.
