Cameron Ashe
PGY 5 - Chief ResidentBiography: Cameron Ashe is currently completing his Respirology Fellowship at Western University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Acadia University, Nova Scotia. This was followed by a Medical Degree from Dalhousie University. He completed further training in Internal Medicine through Dalhousie University in Saint John, New Brunswick where he served as the Chief Resident and was heavily involved in resident education. Cameron has a wide range of interests in Respirology with a research focus in quality improvement work related to ensuring timely access of lung cancer diagnostic imaging. He has lived in several countries including Chile and Australia fostering a love of travel. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in triathlons, soccer, golf and spending time with his family and Lagotto Romagnolo (Flora).
Abdullah Almazrooa
PGY 5Biography: Abdullah, currently a Respirology Fellow at Western University, previously completed his Internal Medicine Residency at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. His interest in Respirology lies in Airway diseases and Cystic Fibrosis. Abdullah is a teaching assistant at his university and has a special interest in Medical education and curriculum development. Outside of medicine, Abdullah finds joy in photography, baking and travelling. He is also very passionate about football (soccer). He plays and watches it religiously. An achievement he is proud of was getting hold of the World Cup final ticket and watching it live from the stadium.
Mina Ishak
PGY 5Biography: Mina Ishak is currently completing his Respirology Fellowship at Western University. He completed his undergraduate degree at Western University in Health Sciences. He went on to complete medical school at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. This was followed by Internal Medicine residency training at Western University. Mina's academic interests include medical education and medical innovation. Mina's interests in Respirology include pulmonary hypertension and interventional pulmonology. Outside of medicine, he loves travelling, watching sports and spending quality time with friends and family.
Jana Aljohani
PGY 5Biography: Jana AlJohani is currently completing her Respirology Fellowship at Western University. She earned her Medical Degree at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at KAU. During which she assumed the role of chief resident. Jana was recognized as the best resident among all her internal medicine residency years. Her interest in Respirology lies in Interstitial Lung Disease and Airway Disease. Beyond medicine, she finds joy in playing sports, particularly basketball, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Jaymee Shell
PGY 5Biography: Jaymee Shell is currently completing her Respirology fellowship at Western University. She completed her medical training at McMaster University and Residency in Internal Medicine at McMaster University. Prior to that, Jaymee obtained her Masters of Science in Biomechanics from McGill University and her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science from Concordia University, where she was a varsity hockey player for four years. In her spare time, she enjoys playing hockey, using her Peloton bike and travelling.
Malcolm Sherwood
PGY 4Biography: Malcolm Sherwood is currently completing his Respirology Fellowship at Western University. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa. He completed his medical degree and completed his training in Internal Medicine at Western University here in London – a community in which he has deep roots. Malcolm has an academic and clinical interest in cystic fibrosis and in airway disease. While he’s not in the hospital, you’ll find him on his bicycle, in his garden, or out camping with his family.
Crystal Leung
PGY 4Biography: Crystal Leung is a current Respirology fellow at Western University. She previously completed medical school at Western before heading away to the east coast for Internal medicine residency at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. During residency, Crystal served as chief resident and developed an interest in medical education. Within medicine, her interests lie in interventional pulmonology, interstitial lung disease, and critical care. Crystal spends her free time running, spending time outdoors camping and hiking, and loves watching baseball. One day she plans to road trip across North America to see a game at every MLB stadium, but will always stay loyal to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Lugain Khoj
PGY 4Biography: Lugain is presently finalizing her Respirology Fellowship at Western University. She obtained her Medical Degree from King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at KAU. Her passion within Respirology revolves around Interstitial Lung Disease and Airway Disease. When she's not immersed in medicine, she dedicates all her time to her two young children, cherishing family moments and indulging in the joys of cooking.
Karen Cholmondeley
PGY 4Biography: Karen Cholmondeley is currently completing her Respirology Fellowship at Western University. She also completed medical school at Western University before heading east to Dalhousie for Internal Medicine residency training. Karen’s interests within Respirology are wide ranging but include airway disease, pulmonary rehabilitation and long term mechanical ventilation. In her spare time Karen enjoys going for brunch, hiking any kind of coastal or forest trail and spending time with friends!
Ali Malik
IP FellowAbdullah Al-Suhaim
ILD clinical FellowBiography: Abdullah Alsuhaim completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary medicine. He attended medical school at Alfaisal University and completed both his residency and pulmonary fellowship at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center. Abdullah also spent a year as a lung transplant specialist at King Faisal Hospital. He has a particular interest in interstitial lung disease. Outside of work, he enjoys playing volleyball and spending time with his family.
D'Cruz Jennifer
Sleep FellowBiography: Jennifer completed her medical school at University of Ottawa, followed by Internal Medicine training at Western University. She recently completed her Respirology training at Queen’s University and has now joined us back to finish her Sleep Fellowship. Jennifer enjoys swimming, canoeing, and travelling!
