She practised as consultant paediatrician and honorary senior clinical lecturer at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and Edinburgh University prior to moving to Canada. She has developed a research interest in the causes and treatment of childhood headache, as well as in conducting studies in the inpatient setting.
She is currently the president of the Canadian Paediatric Society Hospital Paediatrics Section Executive, a founding member of the Paediatric Inpatient Research Network of Canada (PIRN), and a national steering committee member of Choosing Wisely Community of Practice in Paediatrics.
