Dr. Anderson joined the Department of Paediatrics in the Division of Critical Care Medicine starting in July of 2022. He completed his Critical Care Subspecialty Fellowship in 2021 at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where he was the Chief Fellow. Following this, he went on to complete an Advanced Subspecialty Fellowship in Extracorporeal Life Support technologies where he developed expertise in hybrid in-person and virtual high-fidelity simulation using the ECMO circuit.
Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Anderson completed his B.Sc. in 2012 at Queen's University where he studied cardiorespiratory physiology. He obtained his Medical Degree from McMaster University in 2015 before completing his General Paediatrics Residency at Western University in 2019.
Dr. Anderson's research focuses on Medical Education, particularly the development and maintenance of competence in high-functioning Critical Care Teams. He is currently exercising his passions for education and ECLS as the Interim Program Director of the Paediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program and Medical Lead for the development of a Rescue ECMO Paediatric Cannulation and Referral Program at LHSC.
