Biography
Dr. Taryn S. Taylor completed her medical education and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Western University in 2016. During her residency, she completed her PhD in Health Professions Education from Maastricht University as part of the Clinical Investigator Program. Her doctoral research focused on understanding fatigue as a social construct and the implications for fatigue risk management. Subsequently, she pursued a Senior Fellowship in Simulation Education at the University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Scientist at the Centre for Education Research & Innovation, contributing to advancements in healthcare education and practice.
Publications & Achievements
Dr. Taylor's research has been recognized for its impact and innovation:
- Awarded the PhD Prize for Outstanding Doctoral Research at the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE).
- Received the Best Research in Medical Simulation in 2023 by the AMEE Simulation Committee.
- Granted the AFMC 2024 Young Educators Award by the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada for her contributions to medical education.
