Biography
Dr. Erin Lovett BSc MD FRCSC completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with Honours in Physiology Certificate at the University of Alberta. She then went on to complete her Medical Degree and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Western University. Dr. Lovett is presently Associate Professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been active clinical staff since 2010.
Dr. Lovett maintains a general Obstetrics and Gynecology practice with interests in reproductive health and contraception. She has completed additional training through CMAS and AAGL to be proficient in minimally invasive gynecologic surgical techniques such as vaginal hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy and operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. Dr. Lovett also maintains a busy Obstetrical practice in a tertiary level Centre.
As an academic physician Dr. Lovett is involved in resident and medical student training and currently is Deputy Director of Postgraduate Medical Education. She is also the Department of Ob/Gyn’s CBME lead; helping transition through to the Royal College’s new program for residency training. Dr. Lovett supports ongoing research through the department and currently is looking at reasons why women decline LARC’s as their method of contraception.
