Urogynaecology
Note that this program is not accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. After successful completion of the program, graduates receive certification from Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
The program takes in 1 or 2 trainees each year. The annual salary is derived from MOHLTC billings and runs about $75,000 (CAD) per year. Trainees have access (upon application) to department funds set aside for travel, meetings and conferences.
How is the program structured?
The trainee will be responsible for:
- core urogynaecology clinics and ORs
- initiating a research project
- coordination of urogynaecology teaching rounds
- teaching Ob/Gyn residents and medical students
Objectives - Year 2
The trainee will be responsible for:
- working in subspecialty rotations (urology, colorectal and minimally invasive gynaecology surgery )
- consolidation of clinical urogynaecology skills
- completion of a research project

Graduates of this program will be qualified to take up posts in academic medicine or in community medicine with an academic affiliation

The deadline for applications is May 31st of the year prior to the year in which the candidate wishes to commence training.

- Most Current Curriculum vitae
- Three letters of reference
- Proof of sponsorship (if applying from outside Canada)
For trainees who are sponsored by and are citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, they must apply through their sponsoring agency, and not directly to the program.
