Biography
Dr. Dr. Nilgun Ari received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Marmara University School of Dentistry, Istanbul/Turkey in 1997. After graduation, Dr. Ari worked as a general dentist in a private practice setting for 5 years. Dr. Ari made the decision to pursue her career in Prosthodontics and attended the postgraduate program at the University of Yeditepe, Faculty of Dentistry in Istanbul/Turkey graduating in 2004 with the highest honors.
Following graduation, she remained working in private practice settings as a prosthodontist until 2010. Dr. Ari moved to London, Ontario with her family to continue her studies at the Western University, Schulich School of Dentistry and Medicine. She worked as a part-time clinical instructor in various disciplines of dentistry including Removable Prosthodontics, Fixed Prosthodontics, Dental Anatomy, Occlusion and Restorative Dentistry, and was appointed as a full-time faculty member at the same institution in 2013. In 2015, she was accepted as first DSAPT student in Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia, School of Dentistry. After she successfully completed the program in Prosthodontics at the UBC, she became a fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
She holds memberships in numerous prosthodontic organizations and societies. Currently, she holds an appointment as Assistant Professor at Western University, Schulich School of Dentistry and Medicine.
Dr. Ari has a particular interest in treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, contemporary dental materials, digital dentistry and TMD management.
