OCT 8, 2014 - Schulich Dentistry Annual Research Day
The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry will host the Schulich Dentistry Annual Research Day on Wednesday, October 8th. It will feature a presentation of student posters and the 13th John T. Hamilton Lecture, to be delivered by Martha J. Somerman, DDS, PhD. Title: TBA
Dr. Somerman is currently the Director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) and was previously the Dean of Dentistry at University of Washington. Dr. Somerman’s research focuses on defining the key regulators controlling development and maintenance and regeneration of tissues that form the dental-oral-craniofacial complex. In addition, she studies the appropriate cells, genes (factors), and scaffolds needed to rebuild periodontal structures lost through disease.

Dental student attendance to this lecture is mandatory, therefore classes/clinics will be cancelled for the afternoon.
