February 2023
Dr. Bruna Gaertner's path to dentistry began as a childhood fascination with the clinic mirror and handheld instruments. Gaertner graduated in 2001 as a first-ranked student from the Dentistry Program at the University of Marilia in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and has kept learning at the forefront of her career. She achieved a specialty in Cosmetic Dentistry with a Major in Hosptial Dentistry, and is in the process of pursuing an MBA in Health Sciences Administration while continuing to grow her private practice.
Dr. Gaertner is passionate about both teaching and learning and says that having Dr. Sheila Butler as a mentor inspired to her to be an instructor.
"Instructing makes me feel like I am receiving an award," she shared, "because sharing my knowledge with someone is so gratifying."
You can find Dr. Gaertner focusing on Operative and Fixed Prosthodontics in the Simulation (Sim) Clinic, where she encourages her students to approach their learning in the Sim Clinic as if they are attending to real patients.
She urges them to focus on deliving their very best effort every day, and dedicate their time to learning and improving knowledge.
