Announcement: Acting Director, Schulich Dentistry Operations
Dear faculty, staff and learners,We are pleased to announce that Elana Whelan has been appointed Acting Director, Dentistry Operations. In this role, she will provide leadership to the operational team in Dentistry. During the next few weeks, Elana and Rachel Halaney will work together as Rachel transitions to a new role in the President’s Office.
Elana brings more than 20 years of human resource and leadership experience working primarily in the post-secondary and education sector. During this time, she spent more than eight years working in a leadership role directly in the Dean’s Office at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and most recently, she served as the Director of Human Resources at Brescia University College. This fall, she transitioned back to Western’s Human Resources.
Elana will move to the offices in Schulich Dentistry during the week of January 18 and will continue to work closely with Rachel in the coming weeks to ensure teams across Dentistry are well supported.
The search for a permanent Director, Dentistry Operations at Schulich Dentistry is already underway.
