White Coat Ceremony 2018
Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry’s White Coat Ceremony is a symbolic milestone for all incoming medicine and dentistry students, welcoming them into the medical and dental profession. This year three sets of siblings shared this special moment.

Logan Van Nynatten, Medicine Class of 2020, has been awarded the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame Award for Medical Students. - Dr. Davy Cheng appointed Acting Dean
Dr. Davy Cheng will serve as Acting Dean of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry for the period October 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. - Dr. Margaretha Rebel appointed as Associate Dean, Office of Learner Equity & Wellness
Dr. Margaretha Rebel has been appointed as Associate Dean, Office of Learner Equity & Wellness, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, effective from September 1, 2018 – August 31, 2023. - A global leader in medical education research
Lorelei Lingard, PhD, has been awarded the 2018 Karolinska Institutet Prize for Research in Medical Education. This international honour recognizes Lingard's contributions to medical education policy in Canada and around the world. - New Vanier Scholars explore cardiovascular health, cancer and behavioural neuroscience
Jason Lee, PhD Candidate, Cory Lefebvre, MD/PhD Candidate, and Roger Hudson, PhD Candidate, were recognized as 2018 Vanier Scholars. Congratulations to these Schulich Medicine & Dentistry students. - Former Dean Dr. Carol Herbert to be honoured at fall Convocation
Dr. Carol Herbert, who served as Dean of Schulich Medicine & Dentistry from 1999 to 2010 and was instrumental in developing a satellite campus in Windsor, is among seven Canadian luminaries at the 312th Convocation to receive an honorary degree. - Homecoming 2018

Dr. Darren Cargill and his patient, Thorold Findlay, were recently featured in a story sharing the bravery and positivity of palliative patients. Sadly, Thor passed away on September 12.
