Physics Undergraduate Conference (PhUnC) - March 9
A notice from Physics and Astronomy Students's Association (PASA)....
Every year Western hosts a Physics Undergraduate Conference (otherwise known as PhUnC) that gives undergraduates the opportunity to get together and share their physics-based research through short talks and poster sessions. This year, we are eagerly expanding the conference to include nearby universities in Southwestern Ontario and across the border!
The conference will take place all day from 10:30-5:30 on Thursday, March 9th, 2017 in the Physics and Astronomy Building. The keynote speaker is the director of SNOLAB, Dr. Nigel Smith, talking about SNOLAB’s Nobel-prize winning neutrino searches. A catered social event will follow.
The top three presentations at the conference will be awarded prizes, notably first place winner will receive the Physics Undergraduate Research Award of Distinction, valued at $3000 toward a paid, 12-week research position at Western University in the summer of 2017. The winner can choose from any of the projects present in the link below:
