In Memoriam: Dr. Catherine Yanchula

It is with great sadness that we share the news about the sudden passing of Dr. Catherine Yanchula. Dr. Yanchula was a Windsor family physician and Adjunct Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Campus.

Having first completed her nursing training and with several years of experience working in oncology, public health and family medicine, Dr. Yanchula brought a special lens on health for students.

As a family physician, she felt it was a privilege to be part of the lives of others on a long-term basis, as it provided an opportunity to practise the art and science of medicine. Dr. Yanchula was always grateful to her patients, who she said enabled her to develop a deepened sense of gratitude and understanding of what truly are the most important things in life.

We wish to express our sincere condolences to Dr. Yanchula’s family and friends. 

We recognize the tragic and sudden circumstances surrounding her passing may cause a range of reactions within our communities and workplaces.

Support is available to anyone struggling with this sudden loss of a colleague, teacher and friend.
