Announcement: Dr. Timothy Regnault appointed Assistant Dean, Pre-Clinical Research
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy Regnault has been appointed to the position of Assistant Dean, Pre-Clinical Research, at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University effective July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024.
In this role, Dr. Regnault will provide strategic leadership and representation for animal-based research on behalf of the research community within the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.
Dr. Regnault completed his PhD from the University of Western Sydney - Hawkesbury Campus in Australia in 1997. The following year, he completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he became Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics. He was appointed as the Assistant Director of the Perinatal Research Center in the Department of Pediatrics in 2001.
In 2005, Dr. Regnault joined Schulich Medicine & Dentistry as Assistant Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Physiology and Pharmacology. Currently, he is an Associate Professor, and a scientist at Children’s Health Research Institute.
Dr. Regnault’s research is focused on understanding the development and progression of non-communicable disease (NCDs), and the impact of adverse environments on early life course. His work specifically studies in utero and post-natal cases. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Canadian Institutes of Health Research and National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Regnault is actively involved in various professional associations, including the Fetal and Neonatal Physiological Society as an Executive Board Member, the International Society for Developmental Origins of Health and Disease - Canada as Secretary/Treasurer and the Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting as Co-organizer. At Western University, Dr. Regnault currently serves as the Chair of the Western University Animal Care Committee, a position he has held since 2015.
