In Memoriam - Dr. Martin Lyle Robinson
It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Dr. Martin Lyle Robinson.
Dr. Robinson was a dedicated physician, surgeon and associate professor in the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry. His dedication to teaching was evident even as he continued to teach medical residents from his hospital bed in his final weeks. His medical training began at Western University, after which he received a scholarship to study with Sir John Stallworthy at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford.
His sense of duty as a medical practitioner was expressed in the 30 years he spent during his retirement training young doctors in Saudi Arabia, Sudan and, most significantly, as team leader of the Canadian Medical Delegation in Yemen. As the first Canadian physician to be invited to Yemen, he worked to establish a modern medical program, including the country's first oncology clinic.
