Located in the Department of Medical Biophysics at Western University, the Translational Biophotonics Lab is a leader in biomedical optics and its applications for point-of-care hemodynamic monitoring. Led by Dr. Mamadou Diop, our lab specializes in developing and applying optical technologies to measure tissue blood content, perfusion, and metabolism with applications in both preclinical and clinical research. These techniques are based on time-resolved near-infrared spectroscopy, diffuse correlation spectroscopy, and hyperspectral tissue spectroscopy. If you're ready to take your research career to the next level, we want to hear from you! Interested candidates with training in physics, electrical or biomedical engineering, and biophysics are encouraged to reach out to Dr. Mamadou Diop atmdiop@uwo.ca. Excellent writing skills and experience with Matlab or Python are required. Visit our Research Opportunities for more information.
