Research
Members of the Division have research interests in a number of clinical and fundamental aspects of the specialty including opportunities in auto-immune regulation mechanisms, auto-antibody production and immunoglobulins, and cytokines in rheumatoid arthritis. Current clinical research is focused in the areas of clinical trial methodology, other cohort and case control studies, the efficacy and toxicity of anti-rheumatic agents, and the epidemiology of rheumatic diseases especially scleroderma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, myositis, osteoarthritis and spondyloarthritis. Educational research is focused on patient education methodology.
