Congratulations to all faculty, staff and trainees on your recent accomplishments and successes.

Jordan Edwards and Klajdi Puka, PhD Candidates with the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, were awarded inaugural research fellowships from the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division. The doctoral students were selected on the strength of their ongoing research about mood and anxiety disorders in migrant populations and the long-term mental health implications of childhood-onset epilepsy.

Andrew Pruszynski, PhD, was awarded the J.A.F. Stevenson Award from the Canadian Physiological Society. The award recognizes an outstanding young Canadian physiologist and is named after James A.F. Stevenson, former renowned physiologist from Western University.

Dr. Matthew Cecchini, PGY5, Anatomical Pathology, received the Dr. P.C. Raju & Jyoti Shah Resident Research Prize, recognizing the Pathology resident with the best published, first-authored original or research article.

Saumik Biswas, PhD Candidate, received the Dr. P.C. Raju & Jyoti Shah Graduate Education Prize, recognizing the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine graduate student with the best published, first-authored original or research article.

Janice Gomes, PhD Candidate, received the Cameron Wallace Graduate Student Award in Pathology, recognizing her high achievement in research, course work and social involvement.
