A Message from the Chair of Graduate Studies
Graduate training in Physiology and Pharmacology will challenge you to develop breadth and depth of knowledge on a specific project selected from a broad choice of research areas. But perhaps more importantly, it will challenge you to develop strong critical thinking and knowledge translation skills to prepare you for a variety of potential careers. Graduate degrees in Physiology and Pharmacology are research thesis-based, meaning that the majority of your time will be spent conducting research in the laboratory of your thesis supervisor. An MSc is typically 2 years in duration, while a PhD is usually completed within 4 to 5 years. Members of our research faculty, primarily your thesis supervisor and advisory committee, will mentor you through your graduate degree, from entry to completion. We look forward to having you join our program.
