Announcement: Dr. Nicole Campbell appointed as a Teaching Scholar
We are pleased to congratulate Dr. Nicole Campbell on her new appointment as a Teaching Scholar and Associate Professor in our Department effective January 1, 2022. Dr. Campbell received her PhD from the University of Guelph (2012), has a Master’s of Education from the University of Queens (2018) and was first appointed as Assistant Professor in our Department in 2015.
Dr. Campbell has an outstanding teaching record having been awarded several distinctions in recent years. She is the recipient of the Marilyn Robinson Award for Excellence in Teaching (2019), Western University’s Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching (2020), Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance Award for Excellence in Teaching OUSA (2020), and the Schulich Educator Leader Award (2021). In addition, Dr. Campbell has a strong history of contributions to our department, chairing our Social Committee for many years and playing important roles in ‘teaching our teachers’. She has also been very successful in securing research grant funding through her years here at Western, for example in the recent eCampus Ontario Virtual Learning Strategy (2021–2022) competition
Dr. Campbell is also currently serving as the Director of Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (IMS), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, where she leads both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
We are extremely fortunate to have Dr. Campbell as a member of our Department and wish her every success in her new role. Congratulations Nicole!
