Biosketch
Dr. Sequeira is a Professor in the Department of Physician Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR). He is the Chair of PMR at Schulich School of Medicine. He is the Physician Lead in the Department of PMR at St. Josephs and LHSC, London.
Dr. Sequeira completed an undergraduate medicine degree at the University of Toronto (1994), residency in PMR at Albany Medical Center (1998) and fellowship in Electrodiagnostic and Sports Medicine at Michigan State University (1999).
Dr. Sequeira is the past Medical Director of the Acquired Brain and Spinal Cord Injury rehabilitation programs at St. Joseph’s Parkwood Institute. Dr. Sequeira is also the past Residency Program Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Western (2005-2014) a program that he designed and founded in 2005. Dr. Sequeira functions as the Worker Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) Champion at Western, working to integrate WSIB education into medical school curriculum. He also is the Medical Director of the WSIB Brain Injury Specialty Clinic in London.
Dr. Sequeira is a consultant physiatrist in the Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Programs at Parkwood Hospital. He runs a spasticity clinic, outpatient brain and spinal cord injury clinics.
Academics
Dr. Sequeira has been the co-Chair of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Specialty Examination in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation since 2020 and has been an examiner on this board since 2017. Dr. Sequeira was the recipient of the St. Joseph’s Medical Advisory Committee Award of Excellence (2022), St. Joseph’s Professional Staff Award of Excellence (2021), and Schulich Medicine & Dentistry’s Dean’s Award of Excellence for Undergraduate Medical Education (2009).
