WPA Lecture Series: Dr. Art Poon
On April 11, the WPA was excited to have Dr. Art Poon be our Departmental Invited Speaker for our WPA Lecture Series. Dr. Poon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology who studies and designs computational methods to track the spread and adaptation of viruses. His talk was titled “What a waste: Life as a weirdo and the growth of bioinformatics”. Dr. Poon gave a thought-provoking talk that described his career path and the decisions and challenges he overcame along the way.
